sharepoint - Column with UNC Path to Images -


i have sql table have exposed in sharepoint using external content type , external list. 1 of columns in table (list) contains unc path 1 or more images (jpeg files). (if matters files named 0.jpg - 7.jpg, depending on how many images there in path. so, there can 1 - 8 files or images in specific path column points to.)

i show these images (perhaps thumbnails can enlarged/clicked or show entire image). seems best way create custom display form, familiar with. looking suggestions/tips/opinions on how this. right approach? or, should use other approach (like create new column type custom rendering?) feedback appreciated!

this intranet use only, local sharepoint farm. have done many "solution type" (using visual studio) features , customizations on farm , have been doing sharepoint development several years.
