division - How to denote mathematically -
the absolute value allows me denote difference between , b regardless of 1 bigger, so: |a-b| or abs(a-b) in e.g. r.
i'm trying correctly denote formula same division of 2 positive numbers (say, c , d). again, don't care 1 bigger, want resulting ratio between 0 , 1. intended answer c/d if d bigger, , reciprocal if c bigger. when code in r can do: ifelse(d>c,c/d,d/c). there way denote desired result in mathematically more acceptable way?
thanks much!
